No Shade, No Problem | Field Notes from Bataquitos Lagoon

Bright day at Bataquitos. Unusually hot. I was hunting for shade but the shaded benches were all taken.

You can feel it in the painting. The light is turned up a little too high and the hills sit soft and hazy underneath all that sky. Not every painting is perfect conditions. Sometimes you just paint where you land.

The painting is part of my Altoids Tin Series. Original oil on wood panel, about 3.5 x 2.25 inches, mounted inside an Altoids tin. Available now at dianalisa.com
